There's no substitute for safety, especially when you're travelling with children. Each time you reserve a Budget rental car, be sure to request a safety seat for each child travelling with you.
To reserve a child safety seat, simply select the appropriate size during the online reservation process, or speak to our call centre agents.
It is required by UK law that any child under 12 years old or under 135cm in height (approx 4ft 5ins) must use an appropriate child restraint - Please ask your Budget representative to help make sure the correct child seat is fitted.

Baby Seat
Weight: Babies from 0 to 13 kg (Birth to approx. 12 months)

Infant Seat
Weight: Children from 9 to 18 kg (approx. 9 months to 4 years)
- Five-point safety harness with one pull adjustment
- Unique pitch control system reduces the child's forward movement within the seat
- Multi-recline positions – the seat adjusts without disturbing your child
- Slim base for a better fit in cars with sculpted seats
- Three-point seat belt or two-point lap belt installation
- Side impact protection with deep softly padded side wings
- Performance chest pads
- Spring-loaded belt locking mechanism allows easy installation
- Harness retainers make it easy to get your child in and out of the seat
Child Seat
Weight: Children from 15 to 36 kg and under 135cm in height (approx. 4 to 11 years)

- Easily accessible seat belt path
- Adjustable backrest enabling installation in a wide range of cars
- Three-point seat belt installation
- Seat belt guides correctly position the three-point seat belt over the child's shoulder and pelvis
- Height adjustable headrest to 11 positions

Booster Seat
Weight: Children from 22 to 36 kg and under 135cms in height (approx. 4 to 11 years)
- Side impact protection
- Compact design for easy transportation
- Seat belt guides help you correctly position the three-point seat belt over the child's shoulder and pelvis
- Helps to ensure the vehicle's seat belt offers the maximum protection for your child
- Booster Seats available in mainland Europe (not UK)
How can I book a safety seat?
A safety seat can be reserved by selecting the child safety seat option during the 'Add Extras' step of the online booking journey. We cannot guarantee a safety seat unless one is reserved.
You can also hire a safety seat at the rental station upon pick up (if available) or by calling our call centre on 0808 284 4444.
And don't forget you can also add a child seat to an existing reservation.
How much does a safety seat cost?
UK safety seats cost £12.99 per day. Prices will vary from country to country.
Where are Budget safety seats available?
Safety Seats are available for hire at all Budget stations across the UK, Europe and Worldwide. Please note that Booster Seats are not available in the UK.
