Here at Budget, it is our aim to ensure car hire is accessible to everyone. That's why we offer hand controls for disabled drivers in the UK, free of charge.
Including hand operated brake / accelerator controls and a steering ball, call us to request yours today. We have selected 4 key questions to keep the information simple and succinct. What are Hand Controls?

Budget Rent-a-car is working with Lynx Hand Controls in the UK to supply and fit equipment to allow disabled drivers to rent an automatic vehicle.
Upon request, 'Lynx hand controls' will be installed in your rental vehicle, adapting the brake and the accelerator pedal of an automatic car to hand operation. A steering ball (steering wheel aid) is also included, which is compatible for use with cars fitted with drivers airbag. Panoramic mirrors are also available upon request.

How much do Hand Controls cost?

Hand controls are free of charge.
 

Where are Hand Controls available?

Hand controls are available at all Budget stations across the UK, but must be requested at least 2 working days before the commencement of your rental. Hand controls can only be fitted to automatic vehicles.

Terms and Conditions:
- Please note that 48 working hours' prior notice is required for the acceptance of an order for the fitting and hire of hand controls.

- The controls will be fitted by Lynx at the renting location. In most cases the Lynx fitter will be in attendance for the hand over procudure. In most cases, the renter will be aware of how to use these type of controls. In the eventuality the renter is not familiar, the Lynx fitter will be on hand to explain their use and (if needed) will take the renter on a short test drive. 

- If the Lynx fitter is concerned as to the renter's ability to use the controls, Budget reserve the right to abort the rental.
