With nearly 500 stores and 150 restaurants, this area caters to millions of visitors. The Kennedy Space centre is also a major attraction in the area, drawing thousands of those young in spirit and imagination.

The centre's highlights include two IMAX screens and the gigantic Saturn V spaceship where enthusiasts of all ages can learn about the US space program.

Also called “The City Beautiful”, Orlando is the unofficial entertainment capital of Florida.

While the city itself is home to some of the finest entertainment attractions including the legendary Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Studios, SeaWorld and Gatorland, it is also surrounded by several game preserves and nature parks.

These include the Ocala National Forest to the north, Richloam Wildlife Management Area to the West and St. John’s National Wildlife Refuge on the east coast.

Around Orlando Airport

Located about 15 kilometres west of the city centre the Lakeridge Winery basks in the warm sun and offers guided tours and tasting of their best vintages.

Get off the beaten path at the Blue Spring State Park. The park offers boat tours, camping, and canoeing, hiking, and scuba diving facilities.

Both the winery and Blue Spring are easily accessible by road, making renting a car the best way to experience these attractions.
