Car hire in and around Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv is nationally known for being 'The City That Never Sleeps'. If you want to see more of the country without spending too much on transport, cheap car rental is a good option. Use our service to male booking a car simple and stress free.

Tel Aviv is the second largest city in Israel and lies on the Mediterranean coast, approximately 40 miles north-west of Jerusalem, Israel's capital city. On the outskirts to the south west is the ancient port of Jaffa, founded 4,000 years ago.

In the early part of the 20th century, the population had grown so much that a few influential Jewish entrepreneurs created a new city. This is now modern Tel Aviv, with its garden suburbs and wide avenues.

As well as having a reputation for being a party town, it is also has some world-class architecture, in 2003 Tel Aviv was awarded World Heritage status by UNESCO thanks to its impressive buildings.

Tel Aviv is a bustling, vibrant city and worth exploring, but if you have booked cheap car hire with us, there are some notable places to visit outside the city. If you are on holiday with young children, there are plenty of open spaces for them to enjoy a number of different activities.

One of the best is the Yarkon Park, situated in the Tel Aviv Port district, and benefitting from lots of recreational areas, including a skateboard park, a climbing wall, a water park and mini golf. Before you head off into the countryside, there is a large sea front to explore, either on foot or by car, and spectacular Bauhaus architecture to admire.

The city is a splendid blend of classic and modern living, and has a lively diversity of influences that provide some great eating experiences. Tel Aviv can get very crowded in the summer, so a good time to visit is during the spring or autumn season. You can take advantage of the availability of cheap flights and accommodation during these off-season periods.

The weather is still good, the beaches are quiet and the roads are less congested. The city is a first-rate place to stay for a few days of shopping, night clubbing and sunbathing, but there is so much to explore outside the metropolitan area.

On arrival at the airport, you can pick up your car rental easily and with no hassle. There are some interesting sites in close proximity to the city and Jerusalem itself is less than a two-hour drive away.

Jaffa is the closest port and is easily reached by a walk along the sea front or by car. It will take you about 40 minutes from the city centre. It is a popular venue for tourists with its ancient buildings, artist quarters, restaurants and galleries.

If you like flea markets, Jaffa has a great one between Yefet Street and Jerusalem Boulevard. The market is open from Sundays to Fridays, and it is a great place to buy jewellery and antiques.

When you hire a car, transporting your purchases is not a problem; another reason to opt for cheap car rental for your Tel Aviv holiday. Once you have picked up your vehicle from us, you can bring familiar biblical references to reality by taking a day trip from Tel Aviv to Nazareth.

You can also visit Capernaum, Tiberias and the reputed site of Jesus Christ’s baptism in the River Jordan. Our rental cars are mainly air-conditioned so you can drive in comfort to these legendary sites.

Jerusalem is easily accessible by car from Tel Aviv, and with Budget car hire, affordable and independent sightseeing excursions are a pleasant change from the rigours of an organised coach tour.

You could make this a longer tour by including a visit to the Dead Sea where you can experience the strange buoyancy of the water and take a mud bath in the mineral packed sea.

Having your own car, you can plan your personal itinerary and go to the places that interest you, rather than being dependent on someone to organize everything for you.
