To visit the Bobodi Garden and Pitti Palace Cross the Ponte Vecchio to the Giardino di Boboli. There is a huge park on a hillside in the middle of Florence behind the Pitti Palace. Car hire at Florence Airport (FLR) – Practical Information

Finding your way to the city centre from Florence Airport is very simple.

As you exit the Airport head southwest on Viale Zoroastro da Peretola toward Viadotto del Ponte all’Indiano.
Then continue onto Viale Alessandro Guidoni for 400m before turning right onto Via Garfagnana. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Via Alessandro Allori.

After 450m turn left onto Via Francesco Baracca, then after 1.6km turn right onto Piazza Giacomo Puccini.

After 1.5km turn left onto Via Giovanni Paisiello , then after 1km take the 2nd right onto Via del Ponte alle Mosse, a slight left onto Piazzale di Porta al Prato then after 50m turn left to stay on Piazzale di Porta al Prato.

Then turn right onto Via Luigi Alamanni and after 200m take a slight right onto Piazza della Stazione.

Finally turn right onto Via Santa Caterina da Siena followed by a left onto Via della Scala. Here on your left you will find several hotels and the Piazza di Santa Maria Novella.

Remember when driving in Italy that you should drive on the right and over take on the left, children are not allowed to sit in the front passenger seat unless they are over 150cm tall, be aware of bus and cycles lanes as on the spot fines can be enforced if driven in and it is compulsory for the driver to carry a driving licence.
