Car Hire France

Touring France in a Budget car hire gives you the opportunity to take life at your own pace for a while – time to stop and smell the coffee at pavement cafes, sample the delights of town centre bistros, pick up a little shopping in back street boutiques and meander through villages off the beaten track.

The South of France enjoys a later summer than the UK and is the perfect destination for a last minute holiday. If you're looking to take in the plethora of vineyards, ensure you put another of your party on the Budget car hire agreement so you can take it in turns to sample the local tipple. For shorter trips, nipping around Paris in your Budget vehicle will make sure you have the time to take it all in – from the Eiffel Tower to the Louvre Museum. Don't come away without a gorgeous little piece from Avenue Montaigne or Avenue des Champs-Elysées – the centre of designer heaven.

France

Driving in France is similar to travelling across much of Europe by car, the French drive on the right hand side of the road and have an expansive network of minor roads and major thoroughfares. In terms of speed limits in France, when in your hire car it is important to understand that limits are calculated in accordance with the driving conditions.

In the dry the limit on toll motorways is 130 kph (80 mph) whilst in the wet it is 110 kph (68 mph). The same system applies to both dual carriageways and general roads where the limits in the dry are 110 kph (68 mph) and 90 kph (56 mph) respectively; in wet conditions these limits are reduced by 10 kph to 100 kph (62 mph) for the former and 80 kph (50 mph) for the latter. In urban areas the limits are a blanket 50 kph (31 mph) no matter what the conditions although care should be taken to take note of local signage as fines for speeding are often heavy and given on the spot by traffic officers.

Car Rental France

Budget's car rental France provisions are perfect for both business and leisure travellers who need a convenient and affordable way to get from A to B or tour the sights. For those embarking upon a tour of the magnificent French countryside, villages and towns the use of GPS satellite navigation can be extremely useful, giving tourists precise directions so that no holiday time is wasted.

Travellers are reminded that there are many toll roads in France that although relatively expensive, can be the fastest way to travel large distances with ease. For those who prefer to take the scenic route, using the other main roads (labelled as N or RN) can be the ideal way to get a true feel for the country.

French Cuisine

No trip to France would be complete without sampling the fabulous cuisine and wines. French wine is regarded by many to be the best in the world and with the use of your Budget rental car it is possible to visit many vineyards, granting the opportunity to taste a range of wines to suit almost any pallet.

Remember however that drink driving is a serious offence and if wine tasting is likely to form part of your trip, it will be worth adding another member of your party to your rental agreement.
